WHERE IS IT?
The proposal for Gradwell Park occupies 2.9 hectares on the south western fringe of South Chailey between the doctors’ surgery and secondary school.
The site has a long and continuing history of healthcare and was used for many years as the sewerage disposal area for the adjacent Pouchlands hospital and Martlets development – the works still exist underground.
The site was last cleared six years ago but has now become overgrown and principally used for anti-social purposes.
Access is proposed via Gradwell End and its existing junction with Mill Lane.
