Extensive environmental, ecological and archaeological investigations have been carried out and we have responded fully to each of the concerns or issues raised with us by local people and by environmental watchdogs.
Existing habitats will be retained and protected wherever possible including the entire stretch of woodland on the west of the site. To mitigate any impact and to enhance the environment, extensive planting and development of grassland and wetland habitats will be created on selected adjacent fields for badgers, reptiles, bats and birds. All this work has been planned in agreement with Natural England.
The proposed buildings have recently been redesigned so that they are low rise – mainly two storeys – and they reflect a vernacular ‘Sussex barn’ style to reflect their rural surroundings.
A specially designed low intensity and less intrusive lighting system will be used throughout the development to minimise light pollution.
