Green River Rafting - Field Studies and Educational Trips in Cornwall

Green River Rafting provides, safe, comfortable and enjoyable access to the beautiful Fowey River Estuary for a variety of users and interests, and for educational purposes. The diversity of the natural habitats and the wealth of plants and wildlife found in this conservation area make our rafting "down-drifts" and "up and back" expeditions a must for nature lovers, birdwatchers and anyone with a love of the outdoors.

Added to this, the different phases of the river culminating in Fowey Harbour provide the perfect learning environment to understand the geography, geology and ecology of a river. In this guise, we operate as a floating field studies centre. We aim to attract a wide cross section of people and groups of all ages and from all backgrounds and to offer an experience that will heighten their knowledge and appreciation of this environment and the issues that affect it.

Although we cannot offer accommodation ourselves, we can certainly put our clients in contact with numerous Hotels, Inns, Hostels, and self catering farm cottages/houses. Some of these establishments will be listed on our links page.

The waters of the Fowey Estuary are home to Bass, Salmon and Sea Trout, but of course you are unlikely to see anything, but an occasional ripple on the surface of the water. You will however see many wading birds between August and March and will often see the unmistakeable bright flash of a Kingfisher. Click here to see pictures of the birds so you know what you are looking for and what they are called.
