Myrtle Cottage is a four hundred year old semi-detached traditional thatched Cornish Cottage overlooking undulating countryside. It is situated between the picturesque villages of Helford and Manaccan, both being a short walk away over footpaths.

This delightful cottage provides high quality comfortable furnishings to ensure a peaceful and relaxing stay.

There is ample parking for cars and boat trailers to the side of the property, and a secluded garden with patio and barbeque area to the rear.

Manaccan and Helford

South of the Helford River on the Lizard Peninsula is a haven for those seeking a tranquil, relaxing retreat. The area is full of history and spectacular scenery and offers a range of interests for everyone. There are wonderful coastal and countryside walks, beautiful coves, beaches and pretty fishing villages. The many secluded creeks, including Daphne du Maurier's mysterious Frenchman's Creek, are especially good for bird watching.

Boat hire and temporary moorings are available at Sailaway St. Anthony and Helford, Cornwall. Manaccan village has all weather public tennis courts. There is a wonderful coastal golf course at Mullion. Horse riding and fishing trips can be arranged nearby. There is also a good range of pubs and restaurants providing local seafood and barbecue suppers.

The local shop at Manaccan will deliver supplies to your doorstep and high quality locally produced organic meat and vegetables are available at the nearby Gear Farm shop.

The picturesque village of Helford is a delightful 10 minute woodland walk from Myrtle Cottage. From here the hourly foot ferry will bring you within walking distance of the spectacular semi tropical gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan. Manaccan village lies 10 minutes away across fields at the back of Myrtle Cottage.

Moorings are available either at St. Anthony or Gillan Cove. Gillan Creek is excellent for sailing, windsurfing and general boating activities. It is safe to swim, and when the tide is out it is a wonderful place for prawning and cockling and generally exploring the seashore.
